Netbeans & Glassfish

Dear students,

I’m sorry for the installation problems from Friday.  I’ll ask the system engineers to install the right version but meanwhile you co do it on your own computers.

You can install either an old but stable version, the 8.2:
or the latest one, 11.1:

In both cases I recommend to use glassfish 4.1(.1) (which is built-in in 8.2). I also tested glassfish 5.x and it works but I encountered several problems when setting up different applications.

Once installed you can do a new project, use Java with ANT for Netbeans 11.1 (the others seem a bit buggy).

You can of course use others IDEs if you master them.

Let me know if you have any problems and I’ll try to come help you. In  particular I’ll be present on Monday afternoon after the meeting with the companies (around 3 pm).

Cordialement,

Hello,

Netbeans 8.2 is installed on the computers in the lab room but can't be accessed directly from the interface. You could do it from a console:
/usr/local/netbeans8-atelis/bin/netbeans --jdkhome /usr/lib/jvm/java-surprisepenjdk-amd64
